Virginia Dawn Lee

Virginia “Ginny” Randall Lee passed August 12, 2025. Born in Boston, MA, she grew up as the eldest of six children of Donald and Isabel Randall. A devoted wife to William Y. Lee for 62 years, Ginny built a loving family that includes two children—David Lee (Vicky) and Donna McMaster (Mark)—seven grandchildren—Stephanie Dombrowski (Lawrence II), Amanda McMaster, Andrew Lee, Christina Lee, Emily McMaster, Michael McMaster, and James Lee—and three great-grandchildren—Lawrence Dombrowski III, Saoirse Dombrowski, and Gianna Genevieve (Ginny) Dombrowski. She shared a close bond with her siblings, the late Elizabeth Strimitis, and surviving brothers and sister D. Howard Randall, Jr., Roger Randall, JoAnn Randall, and Robert Randall, along with many nieces and nephews. Ginny spent her early childhood in Randolph before her family moved to Halifax, MA, where her parents taught school in the neighboring area. At Silver Lake Regional High School, Ginny was a member of the Honor Society and took part in numerous clubs and activities. She often played the organ for school assemblies and for church. After graduating from Tufts University (Jackson College) in 1961 with a degree in Biology, she worked as a lab technician at Boston Children’s Hospital. While living in Boston, Ginny met Bill Lee; they married in 1963 and later lived in Chicago, Boston, and White Sands Missile Range during Bill’s surgical training. The couple eventually settled in Atherton, CA, in 1970, where they became active members of both the community and Menlo Park Presbyterian Church (Menlo Church). A gifted and enthusiastic cook, Ginny delighted in hosting large family gatherings filled with laughter and creative touches for children. Her warmth and ability to connect with young ones led her to serve for more than 30 years in the Shepherd’s Village nursery at Menlo Church, where her calm presence soothed countless babies each weekend. She also dedicated many years to the Memorial Hospitality Committee and volunteered actively at her children’s schools and in the PTA. Ginny’s lifelong passions included classical music, decorative arts, and antiques. For more than five decades, she pursued her love of antiques as a dealer at Recollections in Palo Alto, partner of Antique Gallery, and owner of Atherton Antique Gallery in Redwood City. Even in later years, she continued consigning her collections and sharing her expertise. Guided by deep faith, Ginny embodied compassion, kindness, and generosity. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand and will be remembered for her unwavering care and love for others.
