Diego Gianni Vasquez

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Diego Gianni Vasquez, who left us unexpectedly on Sunday, October 13th, 2024, at the age of 21. Diego was a remarkable young man whose spirit, passion, and kindness touched the lives of everyone around him. Diego was born on April 16, 2003, in Redwood City. He was a vibrant soul who brought joy to those fortunate enough to know him. He grew up in East Palo Alto, CA.While growing up, he developed a love for his favorite sports teams (the Raiders and Dodgers), a passion for Spiderman, and an appreciation of music of all genres. Diego graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School, where he was known for his enthusiasm, determination, and intelligence, leaving a lasting impression on teachers and peers alike. Diego had recently begun to explore his passions more deeply, pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology at San José State University. He worked for the psychology department as a teacher's assistant and as an AVID Tutor at Menlo-Atherton High School. As a tutor, he was known for his honesty, sense of humor, and passion, influencing AVID Students to become as hard-working as he was. Diego dreamed of becoming a clinical psychologist and being a father one day. Beyond his achievements, Diego was cherished for his warmth and generosity. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, often going out of his way to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His laughter could light up a room, and his positive outlook on life inspired those around him to embrace each day with gratitude. Diego is lovingly remembered by his loving parents, Aracely and Jessie Vasquez, and his siblings, Jozue and Gabriel Vasquez. He was not just a brother but a true confidant and best friend. His everlasting memory will forever be held in our hearts. Diego also leaves behind beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, pets, and best friends from work, school, and his childhood. May you rest in peace, Diego. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Your enduring influence of love, laughter, and sense of humor will live on in our hearts.
